Puente Flamenco at Arts & Crafts Fest

Two Eastwood residents are the founders of upstate New York’s only complete flamenco troupe, Puente Flamenco. They are David and Lonnie Chu (disclosure: the latter is this writer and the former is her husband), and their troupe has been together since last summer. David plays guitar and sings, Andy Culpepper plays guitar (he also built both guitars), Dionisio Cruz plays cajón and occasionally conga, and Lonnie sings and plays palmas (rhythmic hand-clapping). Leading the dancers is Marisa Guzman; joining her is Rina Flatau and occasionally other dancers.

This summer you can see them on the following dates:

At the Syracuse Arts & Crafts Festival
Friday, July 30, 3:00-4:00
Saturday, July 31, 1:00-2:00 and 3:00 – 400

Also at Family Friendzy
Saturday, August 7, 4:00-5:00
Clinton Square, Syracuse, NY

Starting August 6, 2010, Puente Flamenco will also be appearing at Laci’s Tapas Bar in Syracuse, NY, for two shows the first Friday of every month, at 8:00 and 9:00 pm. Laci’s Tapas Bar 304 Hawley Ave, Syracuse, NY 13203  315.218.5903   MAP

Laci’s, as many of us know, is a production of Eastwood’s Cindy Seymour and Laura Serway.

We look forward to seeing you!

Half of the troupe: Marisa, Lonnie and David
