Hydrofracking causes earthquakes

Does it really make sense to actually inject a lot of stuff into the earth? Do we really know how the earth would react to these kinds of massive changes? Well, we’re finding out. Oklahoma is experiencing a significant increase in the number of earthquakes and it’s because of hydrofracking.

Quake Outbreak Tied to Drilling Wastewater

Oh, what the heck. Let’s try it here and see if it happens. I mean, it’s only the earth we walk (and build) on and the water we drink. What could possibly go wrong?

  1. Having recently moved to Fabius from Eastwood (we miss it terribly) fracking is a huge concern. Did you know the gas industry admits to a 50% failure rate in 30 years? The Preble aquifer that supplies much of Cortland county and southern Onondaga county with water and it has been said the gas companies want to drill there! I’ll chain myself to a well before that happens.

If fracking is a concern to you go to the web site Food and Water Watch (http://www.foodandwaterwatch.org/) and sign up for email alerts and petitions. to keep this environmentally unsound practice out of New York State. A state always known for the purity of water.
