Neighbors Matthew Richard, Cindy Seymour and Vicki Chappell found each other in our email group. Matthew has spearheaded a “Bye Day” litter pick-up that Sean Kirst has suggested should be city-wide. Cindy and Vicki, in concert with Laci’s Burger Joint, have helped to make it an event. This is what Eastwoodians are reading in their email:
Hello Neighbors!
We have had some response from people who plan to participate on Litter Pick-Up Day in Eastwood on Saturday October 17th! Thanks to all who have committed their time so far! We’d like to hear from more of you!
I also would like to take time to invite everyone who participates to a kick-off gathering on Saturday at 10:00 at Laci’s Café and Burger Joint, 2700 James St (corner of James and Hillsdale). They have generously offered to donate refreshment to all participants (coffee, cider, hot chocolate) so please come to Laci’s to meet your neighbors and pep up for our challenge! There will also be some latex gloves and trash bags provided to anyone who needs them.
I am encouraging everyone to claim an area that they will cover and post here so that as Saturday approaches missed areas can be identified and covered.
Come on out everyone! Let’s give our little “burg” the attention it deserves!
