Christy, it is most heartwarming to know that someone from Louisiana is finding our little neighborhood blog to be of interest. I guess I needn't say it (but I will!)... we really are all connected. As for the spray trigger, I have a hard time imagining one not having any plastic in it these days. I can't seem to find one on the web that doesn't have it. I'd love to know how you make these products! You can contact me through the contact form: http://walkeastwood.org/?page_id=78

Cheers,

Wow! Thanks for the speedy reply. Nope, I live in SW Louisiana!
What I am looking for is about a 16 - 26 ounce spray bottle (like the kind you would get Fantastik or 409 in) w/ a metal trigger (or any type that isn't plastic. I did not see that in either of the sites you sent me, but am wondering if maybe I could order one of their glass bottles then just go ahead and buy one of their plastic spray trigger thingys ( :-) Anyway, I brought a few bottles of the all purpose cleaners to the flea market that they had this weekend and a few jars of bath salts. They flew off my table!!! Everyone seems to be looking for natural products. I even told them what was in the products so they could make it at home if they wanted. It seems that people want the convenience of having someone else do it, so I don't mind at all!
Again, thanks for the info!

Christy, where are you located? I'm going to assume it's Syracuse.
A quick search online produces what you're looking for. Here are a couple examples:

SKS Bottle & Packaging, Inc. is in Watervliet, NY. So if you want something relatively close to Syracuse, check them out:
http://www.sks-bottle.com/

Specialty Bottle is in Seattle, so shipping to New York adds to your carbon footprint:
http://www.specialtybottle.com/

I'll post here if I find anything in the Central New York area. And let us know how your business is going. If you're selling in CNY, we'd like to know about it!

Hi! I found your blog very interesting. I have recently started experimenting with natural homemade cleaners and was wondering if I was defeating the purpose by putting them in plastic spray bottles and containers. Do you have any idea where I might purchase a glass spray bottle? Also, I was considering selling my products at our local flea market, but do not want to have to charge a fortune so was also wondering if anyone would know where I can buy nice glass jars (preferably not just plain canning jars) in bulk at a very inexpensive price.
Thanks for all of the info!

Hi, Mary! The only glass containers I can think of that might be airtight are canning jars and the like. There are some lovely examples at this website:
http://www.villagekitchen.com/mfg/index/canning_jar_index.html

It's nice to know someone else is taking this seriously! Good luck with the glass.

Hello, I very much appreciate your having written this article. I am attempting to eliminate, as much as possible, the use of plastic in our home. I'm wondering if I can trouble you with a question? I looked into Anchor Hocking and like their glass containers, but the website indicates that they are not air-tight. Do you know of any glass containers with glass lids that are airtight? There seem to be a great number of glass containers out there with plastic lids. Thank you!
