We are a new business in Eastwood (2719 James Street, next to the East Room) and are trying to establish business relationships with local companies. We do flyer/coupon exchange programs, and are very open to other cross promotional ideas. For example, we have an event scheduled for 1/26/08 with the March of Dimes at our location on James Street.

Chris, you’re not kidding about the beer! We were pleasantly surprised to once find a lambic style Belgian beer in the Stafford, a beer for tasting instead of just slugging. And yes, you can definitely tell the difference between a locally-owned store and one that’s part of a corporate empire. The local folks obviously care about their customers.

Another excellent resource for those of us without washers/dryers is the Classic City laundromat near the corner of Hillsdale and James St (across from Ashdale). Always friendly service, personal, and the place is always spotless. And, if you are doing laundry when the ladies are working, you can pretty much guarantee that you can step out for a few moments to run errands without fearing your things being stolen.

One reason I love to live in Eastwood is because of The Stafford (on the corner of Stafford & Sunnycrest). I always go there for the good selection of beers (sold at pretty low prices), and to get a bottle of water when I am walking my dog. Jim and the rest of the “staff” are friendly people and also live in the neighborhood. They definitely are a “convenience” store!

I’ve been getting my hair done at Omar’s on James St. for a long time now! He’s a great guy and very skilled at what he does.

He’s at 2717 James St., right in the heart of Eastwood.
