A walk to a cultured afternoon

We walked to the Palace Theatre this afternoon to enjoy a well-attended show put on by the Syracuse University Brass Ensemble. This seems ordinary enough when you’re sitting in a theater as big and beautiful as the Palace. But to think that we strolled over in about 15 minutes, that really got to me. There they were, all decked out in tuxes, making us smile and laugh and cry. On an ordinary Sunday afternoon.

We particularly enjoyed watching our friend John Allis play the timpani. What fun that must be! (You can also see John, his son Damian, and even my husband, Dave – hiding – on this page.)

There are not many communities where you can walk to brass band on a Sunday afternoon. But Eastwood is one of them.
